Bodies on a VW Crafter base with a length of 8,160 mm go beyond the factory dimensions of the production vehicle and thus point to a lengthened frame or a body of its own, as used for special transport or sales tasks where the regular Crafter box length is not enough.

On a used example of one of these three versions, besides the condition of the VW Crafter base with its two-litre diesel, the execution of the lengthened frame or body, rust and tightness at its joints with the production body, and the stability of the mounting at an overall length of 8,160 mm all count in particular; parts for the Crafter base run through the VW commercial-vehicle network, for the body through the respective maker.
