Claas Axion 800 (from 2006) – the first in-house developed high-horsepower tractor from Le Mans: Axion 810 to 850, the number as power step, Hexashift and Cmatic, DPS six-cylinder of 6.8 litres, 125 to 171 kW
The Axion 800 is the tractor with which Claas presented its first own high-horsepower range in 2006 – three years after the takeover of Renault Agriculture, developed in Harsewinkel and Le Mans, built in Le Mans as successor to the Ares 800 and as competitor to the Fendt 800, John Deere 7030 and Deutz-Fahr Agrotron TTV. The type logic: Axion marks the high-horsepower tractors, 800 the range with the 6.8-litre engine (900 the range with 8.7 litres), the last digit the power step – 810 about 170 hp to 850 about 235 hp – Cis, Cebis and Cmatic the control and transmission version. The engine is the Deere Power Systems six-cylinder of 6.8 litres at 2,200 rpm, with common-rail injection, four valves per cylinder and power boost; the Hexashift transmission is a semi-powershift with 24 speeds in four ranges, since 2013 optionally the stepless Cmatic by ZF; front axle and cab are suspended.
