Chevrolet Scottsdale – mid-level trim of the C/K pickup range, V8 from 5.0 to 6.2 litres, 117 to 198 kW, from the C10 half-ton to the Dually Crewcab C3500
Scottsdale is not a Chevrolet range in its own right, but a mid-level trim within the Chevrolet C/K pickup range, positioned between the basic trim and the upmarket Silverado line. The type codes C10 and C3500 come from Chevrolet's nomenclature: C denotes rear-wheel drive, and the number denotes the payload class — C10 the half-ton and C3500 the one-ton version. Dually in the designation Dually Crewcab C3500 denotes dual rear wheels for higher payload, Crewcab the full four-door cab. The Suburban Van version carries the Scottsdale trim over to the closed estate version of the Chevrolet Suburban.

The register lists 7 versions with a V8 of 5,000 to 6,200 cm³ and outputs of 117 to 198 kW. Unladen weight ranges from 1,740 to 2,754 kg, gross vehicle weight from 2,404 to 3,500 kg. Width runs from 2,000 to 2,460 mm, with the dual-wheel Dually version marking the upper figure.
The Scottsdale trim made the Chevrolet pickup and Suburban attractive to a broad range of buyers between a pure work vehicle and a comfortable family vehicle, competing directly with comparable trim lines from Ford and Dodge. The Dually version with dual rear wheels, by contrast, targeted users with high towing or payload needs, such as pulling heavy travel trailers.
On a used example, the frame and spring mountings should be checked for corrosion, a common problem on vehicles of this era, along with the condition of the braking system. The V8 is considered robust, but the carburettor or early injection system and the ignition should be checked for correct tuning. On Dually versions, the condition of the dual wheels and the reinforced rear axle should also be checked. Spare parts for the drivetrain and chassis are readily available through the broad GM parts network and the active US pickup scene.
