Chevrolet Flatbed truck (BA)

The register lists here 27 versions with 57 to 332 kW from six- to eight-cylinders of 3,389 to 8,100 cm³ displacement, unladen weights from 1,960 to 4,065 kg, gross weights from 3,502 to 5,900 kg, lengths from 5,000 to 6,550 mm and widths from 1,920 to 2,310 mm.

Flatbed trucks of this class served in Finland chiefly in construction and haulage as well as agriculture and forestry as open vehicles for bulk goods, building materials and long timber; the Chevrolet chassis competed there with American and European truck makes common in the Nordic import market of the post-war decades.

On used chassis of this class, the condition of the frame and flatbed body, rust on the side members and towing gear, engine and clutch condition on the large six- and eight-cylinders, and brakes and steering all count; spare parts run through the open market for US commercial-vehicle technology, as Chevrolet no longer actively distributes this class in Europe.
