With a gross weight up to 3.5 tonnes, the Chausson motorhomes can be driven on a standard car licence and compete with Fiat Ducato-based motorhomes from makers such as Knaus, Hobby and Bürstner; Chausson traditionally counts among the best-selling motorhome brands in France and also has a strong presence in Spain and Italy.

On these motorhomes, damp in the roof, walls and floor, the condition of body seals, chassis and brakes, and the function of the living-quarters systems (gas, water, electrics) count; parts for the body run through Chausson or Trigano, for the chassis through the respective vehicle brand. On older vehicles, checking window and roof-hatch seals, the main cause of later damp damage, is also worthwhile.
