Ceg Premium DG

The register lists here 68 versions with 0.75 to 160 kW, two- to eight-pole, full-load efficiencies from 77.1 to 96.6% and at 75% load from 75.9 to 96.8%. Frame sizes run from 80 to 355, almost all motors are recorded with IP56 protection. Testing followed AS/NZS 1359.5:2004 throughout, with test method B; none of the 68 motors reaches a documented High Efficiency Level under GEMS.

Marketed as a "Premium" line, the DG range supplements CEG's programme, used chiefly in pumps, fans, compressors and conveying plant in the European and Australian markets, competing with larger Italian and international suppliers.

When buying used, what matters is bearing condition and a checked insulation resistance of the winding, visible corrosion on the terminal box and fan cover, the condition of shaft and key, and a legible nameplate with frame size and pole count; since none of the motors carries a High Efficiency classification, actual efficiency under variable-speed drive operation should be checked case by case. Spares run through CEG's European distribution.
