Such small tractors take on work for which standard field tractors are too big and heavy: mulching and mowing between rows in orchards and vineyards, transport work in tight farmyards and driving small mounted implements through the PTO. The four-wheel drive of the 273 4WD improves traction on slopes and soft ground compared with a rear-drive-only version.

On used examples it is worth checking the injection pump and injectors of the direct-injection engine, the clutch and hydraulic pump, and the frame and steering knuckles, which see heavier wear under constant row-crop use; spare parts for these small series usually run through specialist importers and agricultural-machinery dealers.
