The ratio of a low unladen weight from 290 kg to a gross weight up to 2,000 kg combined with lengths over 5 m points to light, elongated platform and transport trailers designed for high payload at low tare weight – for boats, vehicles or bulky loads. On the especially light versions around 290 kg, it is also worth checking the chassis cross-members for cracks, since these carry a higher relative load against the trailer's own weight.

For a used light trailer of this type, the checklist covers the chassis for twisting and corrosion, the condition of the load platform, the function of the overrun actuator and braking system on the heavier versions, and the condition of the lighting system along the full length. Spare parts for axles, the overrun actuator and lighting are usually generic AL-KO or Knott components for this design.
