With almost uniform lengths of around 14 metres and gross weights up to 42 tonnes, the BAO range forms a tight range of long multi-axle trailers for European long-haul transport, used behind tractor units or as trailers in a truck train for general and groupage cargo. The spread of unladen weights from just over 10 to over 16 tonnes points to differently heavy bodies within the same base length.

When buying a used trailer of this range, check the frame and chassis rails for corrosion and cracking along their full length, the condition of the multi-axle units and braking system, the operation of the suspension, and the tightness of the tarpaulin or body. Wear parts for axles and brakes are available through the general commercial-vehicle parts trade, and on long frames it is also worth assessing the torsional stiffness.
