Bukh, a Danish diesel-engine maker based in Kalundborg that built mainly small engines for boats and stationary plant, briefly also produced its own tractors with the DZ series, using its own engines. The DZ-30 was built from October 1956 to 1958, an unusually short span for a tractor line, before the firm returned its focus to marine and stationary engines.

The DZ-30 carries a water-cooled two-cylinder diesel engine of 2,042 cm³ displacement, producing 22.1 kW (30 hp) at 1,800 rpm. With an unladen weight of 1,620 kg, a wheelbase of 1,820 mm, a length of 2,805 mm, a width of 1,640 mm and a height of 1,675 mm, it reaches a top speed of 20 km/h.
At 20 km/h the DZ-30 falls within today's driving licence category L up to 40 km/h. As an engine builder, Bukh carried the same drive technology into the tractor with its own two-cylinder diesel that the firm otherwise fitted in marine and stationary engines – a layout that gave smaller farms simple but sturdy machinery for everyday field and yard work rather than heavy tillage.
When buying such a rare tractor second-hand, the condition of the Bukh diesel engine and its injection pump, the tightness of the cooling system and fuel system, and rust on the chassis and sheet-metal parts matter most. Because few examples survive from this short production run, the completeness of the original engine usually decides the value of the vehicle, and parts are realistically only found through collectors of historic Scandinavian tractors.
