1 model in this series

Bührer OP-17 Standard: four-cylinder diesel of the O-Standard range, 33.8 kW (46 hp), 208 Nm torque, 2,110 kg unladen weight, built 1969 to 1975

Bührer, a Swiss tractor maker based in Hinwil in the canton of Zurich, ran the O range as a simpler Standard line alongside more elaborate Super ranges such as G-Super or P-Super, competing with brands such as Hürlimann and Meili. The OP-17 STANDARD (A) was built from 1969 to 1975, alongside the marque's more powerful Super models.

The OP-17 carries a water-cooled four-cylinder diesel engine of 3,325 cm³ displacement, producing 33.8 kW (46 hp) at 1,800 rpm and developing 208 Nm of torque. With an unladen weight of 2,110 kg, a length of 3,220 mm, a width of 1,640 mm, a height of 1,650 mm and a wheelbase of 2,030 mm, it reaches a top speed of 25 km/h.

At 25 km/h the OP-17 falls within driving licence category L up to 40 km/h. As a Standard version, the OP-17 at 46 hp covered the lower mid class of Bührer's programme at the time, well below the six-cylinder models built in the same years, such as the 100 hp GM-29 Super-Six, and was built for everyday field and yard work on smaller farms rather than heavy tillage.

When buying second-hand, the operating hours and the condition of the injection pump, the tightness of the engine and cooling system, and wear on the clutch and gearbox matter. Rust on the chassis and sheet-metal parts, together with the supply of spare parts for this rarer Standard model, further decide the scope of repair work, and the search usually takes longer than for more common models.
