The six-cylinder engine has a displacement of 13,682 cm³. At a kerb weight of 12,870 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 16,000 kg, payload comes to around 3,130 kg. Overall length is 9,450 mm, wheelbase 6,290 mm and width 2,550 mm. Six wheels on three axles match the 6x6 construction typical of heavy military trucks of that period.

Vehicles of this weight class fall into EU class N3 today, above 12,000 kg, and require a category C driving licence. As a heavy three-axle truck from wartime production, the B 666 mainly served to transport materiel and as a tow vehicle for guns and trailers; surviving examples today are mostly held in museum collections and by historic-vehicle enthusiasts.

For a used example of this type, around 80 years old, check the frame, axles and brake lines for corrosion, clutch and gearbox condition, and the completeness of historic fittings such as the winch, tarpaulin and onboard tools. For an engine of this age, the condition of the cylinder head, cooling system and fuel system needs particularly careful checking after decades of often intermittent use.
