Between 1949 and 1952 the Brandenburger Traktorenwerke also built the smaller two-cylinder diesel “Aktivist” under the RS range, a lighter version alongside the larger four-cylinder KT range from the same manufacturer.

The RS03 “Aktivist” carries a water-cooled two-cylinder diesel engine with 3,325 cm³ of displacement, producing 30 hp, or 22.06 kW, at 1,500 rpm. At 2,250 kg, 2,685 mm long, with a 1,650 mm wheelbase and 1,630 mm width and 2,300 mm height, the machine reaches a top speed of 18 km/h.

With only two cylinders and considerably less displacement than the KT range, the “Aktivist” was built for smaller holdings and lighter draft work, while its top speed of 18 km/h also allowed short transport runs around the yard and between fields. Water cooling with its own radiator set it apart from the circulation cooling of the heavier KT models from the same works. At 1,500 rpm the two-cylinder ran at comparatively high speed for its time, matching the shorter gearing behind its higher road speed.

With this rarer two-cylinder diesel from the early postwar years, the condition of the cooling system with radiator and water pump matters, as does the tightness of the injection pump and the soundness of the engine block. Corrosion damage to the frame and axles and the condition of the tyres should be checked especially carefully on such an old machine.
