With gross weights up to 3,500 kg, the trailers fall into vehicle class O2 and, with lengths of 5.6 to 6.6 metres and widths up to 2.55 metres, cover a wide field of transport trailers for cars and light commercial vehicles, from small loads to bulky goods near the class limit. Such trailers are used both commercially in trades and privately for house moves, transporting machinery or leisure equipment.

Buying used, the overrun brake and its adjustment, the condition of the chassis and load bed, axle bearings and tyres, and the function of the lighting and plug connection matter on light transport trailers; rust on the drawbar, jockey wheel and coupling reduces resale value. On versions with a high side panel, the mounting of the side-panel hinges and their wear also deserve attention.
