BMC is a Turkish commercial vehicle manufacturer based in İzmir, founded in 1964 as a licensed production venture of the British Motor Corporation, and the brand has carried the initials ever since. Model names such as Fatih, Tuğra and Yavuz draw on Ottoman ruler titles: Fatih is the epithet of Sultan Mehmed II, 'the Conqueror', Yavuz the epithet of Sultan Selim I, and Tuğra denotes the calligraphic monogram of the Ottoman sultans; Profesyonel denotes a range for professional fleet use.
