With gross weights from 13,500 to 36,000 kg, the range falls into EU trailer category O4 and therefore has to carry air brakes; unlike commercial road haulage, however, it is mostly towed behind agricultural tractors rather than lorry tractor units. For such tractor-and-trailer combinations, Germany does not apply the professional CE lorry licence but the T or L driving-licence categories, which set their own speed and weight limits for agricultural and forestry journeys. Tipping trailers and slurry tankers of this size also need their own power take-off or hydraulic supply from the tractor to drive the tipping rams, pumps or agitator.
Trailers of this weight class are standard equipment on larger farms and agricultural contractors in Germany and neighbouring countries, where they handle harvest, fertilising and transport work in multi-axle combinations.
On a used purchase, corrosion on the frame, sides and tank walls, the condition of the hydraulic tipping rams or pumps and fittings, the axles and brake system, and the tyres and lighting all matter. Spare parts are supplied by Annaburger itself and the agricultural machinery trade.
