When buying a used example with such a powerful four-cylinder engine, check the condition of the turbocharger and intercooler, the operation of the six-speed gearbox under load, wear on the clutch and brakes from spirited driving, and corrosion on the underbody and tow hitch. The condition of the engine mounts and axle suspension is also worth checking given the high power output, along with the tyres for uneven wear from spirited use.
