Alco Other models

The register lists here 155 versions with unladen weights from 350 to 5,430 kg and gross weights from 1,000 to 10,000 kg. Lengths range from 3,780 to 10,240 mm, widths from 1,490 to 2,650 mm.

With gross weights from 1 to 10 tonnes, Alco covers a broad span from the light car trailer to the medium-heavy tandem-axle unit for trades and agriculture, as is common among regionally active trailer builders. Depending on the weight class, that means either the simple overrun brake used up to 3.5 t (class O2) or the more complex air brake required on multi-axle trailers above 10 t (class O4).

When buying used, what counts is the condition of frame and welds, axles, brakes and the overrun coupling, the state of the lighting system and, depending on the body, the load bed and side boards; since the brand is little known, it is worth checking the chassis number against the registration papers before buying to confirm the exact payload class.
