The MF 6612, MF 6614, MF 6615 and MF 6616 form the Massey Ferguson 6600 series, built by AGCO from 2012 to 2016 in Beauvais, France. The two-digit end of the type code orders the power step within the range from 6612 to 6616; all four models carry the same four-cylinder AGCO Power block of 4.9 litres and meet the emission stage of the time through an SCR system with AdBlue injection. AGCO Power, formerly the Finnish maker Sisu, also supplies engines to the group's other brands, including Valtra and Fendt.

The register lists 4 versions with 88 to 118 kW from four-cylinders of a consistent 4,900 cm³. Unladen weights range from 5,400 to 5,700 kg; all four models run diesel engines with the AdBlue aftertreatment described above.
The 6600 series occupied the mid field-tractor class between the more compact 5600 series and the larger 7600 series and was replaced by the successor 6700 series in 2016. The models were available with either Dyna-4 or Dyna-6 powershift transmission; on the European market they competed directly with the mid-range models from John Deere, Case IH and Fendt.
