The YDP series is a frame-size family of engine-driven centrifugal pumps from the Japanese maker Yanmar, founded in 1912 in Osaka, which established the industrial small-diesel technology in 1933 with the first practical small diesel engine; each YDP pump combines a pump head and drive engine on a common base frame. The type designation divides the series into the three frame sizes YDP20, YDP30 and YDP40, each followed by several versions with different letter suffixes.

The register lists here 24 versions of the YDP series across the three frame sizes 20, 30 and 40, each with several drive variants per frame size. The drive engines produce between 3.5 and 7.4 kW; suction and discharge connections measure 50, 80 or 100 mm depending on frame size, discharge capacity ranges from 550 to 1,750 l/min at heads between 22.5 and 32.0 m, and dry weight lies between 44 and 109 kg.
Engine-driven centrifugal pumps such as the YDP series are used worldwide for field irrigation, construction-site dewatering and as mobile support for fire-fighting water supply, wherever no mains power is available for an electric pump; the EPA certification enables the pumps to be sold in the United States.
On these engine-driven pumps, the condition and running clearance of the impeller, the tightness of the mechanical seal, the condition of the suction and discharge connections, and the actual suction capacity with the engine running all matter; added to that are the usual engine points such as operating hours, compression and the condition of the injection system.
