With the NH, Volvo built its own bonneted range specifically for markets where conventional cab-over layouts are uncommon, chiefly Australia and Brazil; the NH12 carries the twelve-litre six-cylinder engine. The models NH12, NH12 460 T 4X2, NH12 4X2, NH12 6X2 and NH12 6X4 span two-axle to six-axle chassis with different drive formulas; the 460 in the first model follows Volvo's usual practice of appending the engine's horsepower rating to the model name.
