The difference from the FH is not a difference in power. The two share large parts of their engineering; what separates them is cab height, entry and frame design. The FMX grew out of the FM: the same M plus an X for Xtreme. It is the construction and off-road version with a reinforced frame, greater ground clearance and a tougher front end. Anyone looking for a tipper, mixer or hooklift should search both abbreviations — the listings overlap.
