Volkswagen/Carpol – other models: the collective page of Carpol conversions on a VW Crafter base, Crafter and Kombi, 1,968 cm³ four-cylinder diesel engine, 2,151 to 2,706 kg, lengths up to 8,180 mm
This page gathers the conversions of the Polish coachbuilder Carpol on the base of the VW Crafter the register could not assign to a named range: the Crafter in its converted base form and a Kombi version for passenger transport. Both run the 1.968-litre four-cylinder diesel engine of the VW commercial-vehicle range.

The register lists here 2 versions with 1,968 cm³ displacement from four cylinders, unladen weights of 2,151 to 2,706 kg, gross weights of 3,080 to 3,500 kg, lengths of 5,300 to 8,180 mm and widths of 1,900 to 2,250 mm.
Carpol is one of the Polish specialists for conversions on the base of VW commercial vehicles and converts the Crafter into, among others, Kombi and camper variants; the wide length span reaching over 8 metres shows that alongside standard bodies the register also holds lengthened special versions.
On such conversions, besides the condition of the VW drivetrain, rust on the underbody and wheel arches of the base vehicle, the professional execution of the conversion, and on Kombi variants the condition of seats, glazing and interior fit-out count; parts for the VW drivetrain run through the regular Volkswagen dealer network, conversion parts through Carpol.
The second-generation Crafter, developed jointly with MAN from 2017 and no longer technically related to the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, is offered with either front-wheel or rear-wheel drive depending on payload trim; the front-wheel-drive version gives a lower loading floor for lighter conversions such as the Kombi variants, while the rear-wheel-drive version offers more reserve for the heaviest versions listed here, close to the 3.5-tonne limit.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
