Vögele of Ludwigshafen on the Rhine is the world's largest maker of road pavers – a machine works since 1836, in road building since the 1920s, part of the Wirtgen Group since 1996 and with it at John Deere since 2017. The type logic: Super marks the paver range, the number the size class – Super 800 the small paver for footpaths, Super 1100 and 1300 the compact class, Super 1600 and 1800 the universal class, Super 1900, 2100 and 2500 the big motorway pavers with paving widths up to 16 metres – -2 the second generation of the 2000s, the final digits 03 (1103, 1303, 1603, 1803) the wheeled pavers as against the tracked pavers with final digits 00; Vision 5100 and 5200 are the pavers developed for North America in the American layout with the auger at the front. The engines come from Deutz (TCD 2011) in the small, Perkins (1104D, 1106D) in the medium and Cummins (QSB 6.7) in the big and American models, at 1,800 to 2,300 rpm.
