The Valmet 8350 belongs to the Tractors group and is an agricultural tractor. The model is produced by Valmet and features a six‑cylinder engine with a displacement of 6 593 cm³. The rated speed is 1 800 rpm, the power output is 135 hp (99.3 kW) and the maximum torque is 639 Nm. Its dimensions are 5 720 mm in length, 2 155 mm in width and 2 825 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2 558 mm. The curb weight is 6 490 kg, the fuel tank capacity is 165 l and the transmission provides 36 forward and 36 reverse gears. The shaft speed is 540/1000 rpm and the machine is classified in the Cat III power‑lift category.

A power of 135 hp enables the tractor to pull heavy implements and perform field work under high load conditions. The torque of 639 Nm assists in starting with heavy loads and operating in demanding terrain. The curb weight of 6 490 kg results in a moderate ground pressure, suitable for soft soils, while the 36‑gear transmission allows fine speed adjustment to various tasks. The large 165 l fuel tank reduces refuelling stops during extended operations.

The Valmet 8350 is designed for extensive field operations where high drawbar pull and long operating periods are required. Typical uses include plowing, harrowing, seeding and transporting heavy loads on the farm. The combination of high power, substantial torque and a wide gear range makes the tractor well suited for large agricultural enterprises that need robust machines for demanding work.

Valmet – other models: the collective page of the Finnish and Brazilian tractors outside the named ranges, from the Valmet 15 and 20 of the 1950s through the 361 D, 502 and 705 to the Brazilian 65

This page gathers the Valmet tractors the register could not assign to a named range – the Finnish state group Valtion Metallitehtaat that built Finland's first tractor in 1951 in Tourula near Jyväskylä with the Valmet 15, moved tractor production to Suolahti in 1969 and in 1960 founded a second tractor plant in Mogi das Cruzes near São Paulo, which still produces today as Valtra do Brasil. The type logic: the early models 15, 20 and 33 give the hp class, the three-digit 359, 361, 502, 565, 702 and 705 of the 1960s and 1970s the size in the first digit and the generation in the following ones, D the diesel, -4 four-wheel drive; the Brazilian 65, 85, 118 and 148 give the hp class, and the 118 Alcool is a tractor with ethanol engine from the Brazilian alcohol programme of the 1980s – noted in the register as fuel Alcohol. The engines are Valmet's own from Linnavuori, in Brazil MWM diesels built under licence; in 1997 the name passed to Valtra with the sale to Sisu.

The register lists here 179 versions with 11 to 140 kW from three- to six-cylinders of 1,400 to 7,400 cm³, torque from 157 to 691 Nm, unladen weights from 780 to 12,000 kg, gross weights from 1,250 to 20,000 kg, lengths from 2,500 to 5,720 mm, widths from 1,120 to 2,680 mm and heights from 1,350 to 3,100 mm.

Valmet was the tractor of Finnish farming and forestry and is still one of the big brands in Brazil today; the 6000s and 8000s of the 1990s laid the foundation for Valtra's success in Western Europe.

On used tractors, originality and engine condition count on the classics, clutch, gearbox and hydraulics on the 500s and 700s, HiShift shuttle and electronics on the 6000s; parts run through Valtra and AGCO, in Brazil through Valtra do Brasil.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
