The Valmet 6200 belongs to the Tractors group and was built by Valmet. It is part of the 6200 series and features a 4‑cylinder engine with a displacement of 4 397 cm³. The machine measures 4 514 mm in length, 2 181 mm in width, 2 700 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2 327 mm.
It delivers 75 hp (55,2 kW) of power and a maximum torque of 320 Nm, providing sufficient pulling capability for medium field tasks. The transmission is available in 12 forward/12 reverse gears, with additional options of 24 forward/24 reverse and 36 forward/36 reverse, allowing flexible speed selection. The fuel tank holds 158 l, enabling long operating periods without frequent refuelling. A pump shaft speed of 540/1000 rpm supports the lifting of implements classified in the Cat II power‑lift category.
The Valmet 6200 is suited for typical operations on medium to large acreage, such as soil preparation, seed placement and haulage of harvested material. Its dimensions and high torque make it appropriate for jobs that require stable pulling force and adequate reach while retaining the maneuverability of a smaller tractor.
Valmet – other models: the collective page of the Finnish and Brazilian tractors outside the named ranges, from the Valmet 15 and 20 of the 1950s through the 361 D, 502 and 705 to the Brazilian 65
This page gathers the Valmet tractors the register could not assign to a named range – the Finnish state group Valtion Metallitehtaat that built Finland's first tractor in 1951 in Tourula near Jyväskylä with the Valmet 15, moved tractor production to Suolahti in 1969 and in 1960 founded a second tractor plant in Mogi das Cruzes near São Paulo, which still produces today as Valtra do Brasil. The type logic: the early models 15, 20 and 33 give the hp class, the three-digit 359, 361, 502, 565, 702 and 705 of the 1960s and 1970s the size in the first digit and the generation in the following ones, D the diesel, -4 four-wheel drive; the Brazilian 65, 85, 118 and 148 give the hp class, and the 118 Alcool is a tractor with ethanol engine from the Brazilian alcohol programme of the 1980s – noted in the register as fuel Alcohol. The engines are Valmet's own from Linnavuori, in Brazil MWM diesels built under licence; in 1997 the name passed to Valtra with the sale to Sisu.

The register lists here 179 versions with 11 to 140 kW from three- to six-cylinders of 1,400 to 7,400 cm³, torque from 157 to 691 Nm, unladen weights from 780 to 12,000 kg, gross weights from 1,250 to 20,000 kg, lengths from 2,500 to 5,720 mm, widths from 1,120 to 2,680 mm and heights from 1,350 to 3,100 mm.
Valmet was the tractor of Finnish farming and forestry and is still one of the big brands in Brazil today; the 6000s and 8000s of the 1990s laid the foundation for Valtra's success in Western Europe.
On used tractors, originality and engine condition count on the classics, clutch, gearbox and hydraulics on the 500s and 700s, HiShift shuttle and electronics on the 6000s; parts run through Valtra and AGCO, in Brazil through Valtra do Brasil.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
