The crawler excavators under the Terex name have two fathers, and the register shows both. The TXC range – TXC140LC to TXC520LC in generations -1 and -2 – arose from a 2003 agreement with Doosan: Terex sold the Korean Solar-series excavators in North America and Europe under its own badge, with Doosan engines DE58, DL06, DE12 and DV11, as the register rows prove; the number gives the weight class in hundreds of kilograms, LC the long-crawler undercarriage with a longer footprint. The agreement ended in 2009 when Doosan began distributing its excavators itself. The 1604LC, 1704LC and 1804LC with Deutz BF6M 1013 engines, by contrast, come from Germany – from the years when Terex owned the excavator maker Atlas Weyhausen of Ganderkesee (2001 to 2010); TC125 and 180LC-2 are further types of those years.

For operators that means: a TXC excavator is technically a Doosan Solar, a 1604LC an Atlas – parts, manuals and workshop knowledge run through the respective brand of origin, not through Terex.
