Talson Mega – Dutch semi-trailers for air-freight transport: Mega, Magnum-Minor, Stepdeck and Flat versions, unladen weight 7,560 to 11,700 kg, gross weight 27,000 to 39,000 kg
Talson is a Dutch semi-trailer manufacturer known for box semi-trailers with particularly large load volume for air-freight transport. Several body variants trade under the Mega name: Mega as the high-volume box body, Magnum-Minor as a further version of the same line, Stepdeck as a lowered platform body, and Flat as an open flatbed. Air-freight operators value the extra internal height especially for ULD containers, which are taller than standard road pallets and would not fit under a conventional box roof.

The register lists 5 versions with unladen weights from 7,560 to 11,700 kg, gross weights from 27,000 to 39,000 kg, lengths from 13,750 to 14,040 mm and widths from 2,550 to 2,600 mm. The entire range therefore falls into vehicle class O4.
Mega semi-trailers are designed for maximum load volume within a given length and height – a lowered chassis creates extra internal height for air-freight containers and bulky but light goods, while the Stepdeck and Flat variants of the same range carry oversized or overheight loads that would not fit inside a closed box body.
When buying a used Mega semi-trailer, the condition of the lowered chassis and wheel arches, the doors and seals of the box body, axles and the braking system, and the kingpin for wear matter; on the Stepdeck and Flat versions, the loading floor, lashing points and tarpaulin or bows also matter. Spare parts and service run through the Dutch commercial-vehicle trade.

What to check before buying
- Search the frame and welds at the axle mounts — that is where cracks start.
- Check the brakes and the last inspection in the papers.
- Work the gross weight against the towing vehicle before buying.
- Compare the chassis number with the papers.
- Look at the floor, cover or body from the inside — rust does not show from outside.
