Suzuki Super Carry – the collective page of the export model on the Carry base, van, pick-up and minibus, 970 to 999 cc, 757 to 1,040 kg kerb weight

The Suzuki Super Carry is the export version of the Japanese kei-class Suzuki Carry, fitted with a larger displacement not subject to Japan's kei class for markets outside Japan. The range comprises the Van panel van, its High Roof (HR) variant, the pick-up, and the TX minibus as a passenger version with several rows of seats. The Suzuki Carry itself, with a model history reaching back to the 1960s, is one of the longest-running kei-class commercial vehicles in Japan.

The register lists 8 versions here with displacements from 970 to 999 cc from four-cylinder engines, kerb weights from 757 to 1,040 kg, gross vehicle weights from 1,346 to 1,410 kg, a length of 3,290 mm and widths from 1,380 to 1,680 mm.

The Super Carry is widespread mainly in India, Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia, where it serves as an affordable, easy-to-maintain small van for small businesses, passenger transport and delivery services, competing with models such as the Daihatsu Hijet and local small vans.

When buying used, what counts is rust on the chassis and load bed, the condition of the clutch and gearbox on the small-displacement engines, the function of the sliding doors on the Van, and on heavily used vehicles the condition of suspension and brakes; parts supply runs through the international Suzuki dealer network.

  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
