Unlike modern tractors, Plus-series machines are not subject to any emissions stage – they were built before EU emissions standards for farm machinery existed, so they need neither a particulate filter nor an AdBlue system, which significantly simplifies servicing and repair under the bonnet. In return, they do entirely without the electronic engine management of later series; the injection pump and governor are purely mechanical, which makes repair easier for specialist diesel workshops but rules out fault diagnosis via computer.
