Someca, Fiat's French subsidiary for farm equipment, launched its big six-cylinder farm tractors with the Grandi range of the 1980s. The types 1180, 1280, 1380, 1580 and 1880 all carry the TD suffix and are fitted with six-cylinder diesel engines of 5.5 to 8.1 litres.
