Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik traces back to a smithy acquired in 1869 by Christian Friedrich Scheuerle in Pfedelbach; in 1937 Willy Scheuerle founded the Willy Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik and built the first heavy-haulage vehicles there, including low-bed trailers with a retractable chassis and mechanical all-wheel steering, followed in 1959 by the hydraulically supported pendulum-axle principle. Today Scheuerle belongs to the TII Group and is its largest production site at Pfedelbach for heavy special and modular transport vehicles. The STGK range groups heavy-haulage modules with the AP suffix, whose type numbers from 45.2 to 954-4 indicate the axle count or load-capacity level of the respective version.
