This page gathers the trucks still carrying the double name Scania-Vabis – the brand formed in 1911 from the merger of Vagnfabriks Aktiebolaget i Södertälje, Vabis for short, with the Maskinfabriks-Aktiebolaget Scania founded in Malmö in 1900. Until the renaming to plain Scania in 1969, the trucks still carried the letter L for lastbil, the Swedish word for lorry, followed by a model number; types such as the L76, L110S or the BF 7639 denote different wheelbases, cab shapes and engines of the 1940s to 1960s, with S marking a short-bonnet or tractor-unit variant. The plant in Södertälje near Stockholm, which grew out of the Vabis wagon works, remains Scania's headquarters to this day.
