This collective page gathers the Renault AE, the heavy truck from Renault Véhicules Industriels unveiled in 1990, whose designation stands for 'Aérodynamique'. The cab, designed by Marcello Gandini, was the first in its class to have a completely flat floor with the cab mechanically separated from the engine compartment, and was voted Truck of the Year in 1991. At the top of the range, alongside the AE 380 with its six-cylinder turbodiesel, stood the AE 500 with an eight-cylinder Mack diesel engine; from the 1997 facelift Renault marketed the truck under the new name Magnum.
