Reform Metrac H4 X to H95 – the two-axle slope implement carrier from Wels: H for hydrostat, the number as size class, X as current generation, four-cylinders of 2.4 to 3.6 litres, 36 to 70 kW, 2.3 to 2.8 t
The Metrac is Reform's answer to the mountain meadow: a two-axle implement carrier with low centre of gravity, all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering, hydrostatic drive and mounting spaces front and rear that mows on slopes where a tractor would tip – the Reform works of Wels in Upper Austria have built it since the 1980s alongside the single-axle Motech and the Muli transporter. The type logic: H marks the hydrostatic drive, the number the size class – H4 and H60 the small, H6 and H70 the medium, H7, H75 and H9 the big models up to 95 hp – X the current generation with new cab and electronics, RX an upgrade. The engines are bought-in four-cylinder diesels of 2.4 to 3.6 litres, mounted transversely to drive the hydrostat and the PTOs.

The register lists 11 versions with 36 to 70 kW from four-cylinders of 2,434 to 3,621 cm³, unladen weights from 2,325 to 2,790 kg, gross weights from 3,400 to 4,400 kg, lengths from 3,560 to 3,740 mm and widths from 2,025 to 2,630 mm.
The Metrac is the standard machine of alpine grassland farming in Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol and Bavaria and of municipal work on embankments; its competitor is the Aebi Terratrac.
On used machines, operating hours, the condition of the hydrostat (drive pump, wheel motors), all-wheel steering and steering cylinders, mower PTOs and mounting frames, brakes and tyres (duals on slopes) and parts supply through Reform dealers count.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
