The J5 was Peugeot's large van of 1981 to 1994, built at the Sevel Sud plant in Atessa in central Italy, run jointly with Fiat. Identical sibling models were the Citroën C25 and the first-generation Fiat Ducato; the brands differed mainly in the front end, interior and engine range. Model designations combine payload class (such as 1000, 1400, 1800 for approximate payload in kilograms), body variant (G for panel van, K and L for flatbed) and engine, with TD denoting turbodiesel.
