The New Holland LM9.35 is a telehandler. The LM range from New Holland (CNH) consists of telehandlers; the LM9.35 shares engine displacement, tank size and ground clearance with the LM7.42 Elite but is longer. The engine model is given as LM9.35. Displacement is 4,501.5 cm³, which sets how much air and fuel is burned per working cycle. Charging is by a turbocharger with intercooler. Power passes through a powershift transmission. The tank holds 140.1 l, which sets the running time between refuelling stops. Ground clearance of 415 mm determines how well it clears furrows, windrows and kerbs. Dimensions: length 6,672 mm. They determine storage space, transport width and manoeuvrability.

Telehandlers combine lifting with materials handling: a telescopic boom lifts pallets, bales and bulk material to heights and reaches a wheel loader cannot match. Layout and dimensions suit work in barns, yards and building sites, where manoeuvrability and visibility count.

New Holland LM – telehandlers for agriculture

New Holland (now part of CNH) has been involved in the farm loader market since 1998; early ancestors of the LM range came from the French specialist Manitou. In 2007 New Holland took the assembly in-house. In 2013 the heavy six-to-nine-metre LM range was redesigned: LM 6.32, LM 6.35 Elite, LM 7.35, LM 7.42 Elite and LM 9.35, lifting up to 4,200 kg to a maximum height of 9.1 m. It replaced the LM5040, LM5060 and LM5080.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
