Massey Ferguson's combines in the register come from three plants and three eras. The 510, 750, 760, 860 and 865 are the North American straw-walker combines of the 1970s and 1980s from Brantford, Ontario – the plant where Massey-Harris invented the self-propelled combine in 1938 – with Perkins six- and eight-cylinders; the number orders the size in ascending order. The 9540 to 9895 are the rotary combines of the AGCO era from Hesston, Kansas, whose number likewise gives the class – 9500s the mid-range, 9600s to 9800s the big machines – with Sisu and AGCO Power engines. The MF 7274 and MF 7278 Cerea are the European straw-walker combines of the 2000s from Dronningborg in Denmark, the MF 3640 and MF 5650 older European types. Cerea, Latin for grain, was the name of the Dronningborg range whose successors are called Activa and Beta.
