Its immediate neighbours are the 10.000 (DT) below it with 100 hp and the 14.500 (DT) "TL 24 N/G" above it with 135 hp. Unladen weight within it ranges from 4,525 to 5,230 kg; here the 12.500 (DT) sits in the middle of that range with 4,810 kg. 222 Landini models across 35 series are on record.

Landini 1000 range – heavy six-cylinder tractors from Fabbrico: the 10.000, 12.500 and 14.500 (DT) with 5,792 cm³ displacement, 73.5 to 99.3 kW, 4.5 to 5.2 t unladen weight

Landini, founded in 1884 in Fabbrico in Emilia-Romagna and today part of the Argo Tractors group, ranks among Italy's oldest tractor makers. The 1000 range with the 10.000, 12.500 and 14.500 types formed the top power segment in the Landini line-up; the four- or five-digit number in the name gives an approximate engine power figure, and the 14.500 also carried the internal designation TL 24 N/G. All three types come in DT form with four-wheel drive (Doppia Trazione).

The register lists here 3 versions with 73.5 to 99.3 kW output at 2,100 to 2,400 rpm, from six-cylinder diesels of a uniform 5,792 cm³ and maximum torque of 374 to 392 Nm. Unladen weights range from 4,525 to 5,230 kg, lengths from 4,350 to 4,690 mm, widths from 2,130 to 2,470 mm and heights from 2,875 to 2,910 mm; all three models run on diesel with four-wheel drive.

With the 1000 range, Landini positioned itself in the heavy standard-tractor segment for large farms and contractors, competing with Fiat, SAME, Deutz-Fahr and the big international brands; the standard four-wheel drive and the powerful six-cylinder made the range attractive for heavy soil work and draft tasks.

On a used purchase of these heavy four-wheel-drive six-cylinder tractors, operating hours and the service history of injection pump and turbocharger count, the condition of the front axle with its transfer gearbox, clutch and gearbox under heavy draft load, and rust on the frame and cab; parts run through Argo Tractors and dealers specialising in Landini.

What to check before buying

  • Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
  • Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
  • Check the weights in the papers against the figures here — attachments change them.
  • Check front and rear tyre sizes: mismatched pairs strain the drivetrain.
  • Shift the gearbox cold and warm — jumps only show up at temperature.
  • Load the hydraulics and watch for sag.
  • Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
