Lafert AMPE – three-phase motor from the Italian manufacturer in San Donà di Piave: frame sizes 100 to 132, two- to four-pole, 4 to 9.2 kW, IP55, some at High Efficiency Level 2005/2018
AMPE is a three-phase motor range from Lafert, an Italian manufacturer headquartered in San Donà di Piave in the Province of Venice. The versions listed on this page run from frame size 100L through 112M to 132M and cover both two-pole and four-pole variants; the nameplates also show internal modular codes such as BA2, CA2 or ZA2 for the respective winding and mounting variant, plus the manufacturer's internal order numbers.

The register lists five versions with 4 to 9.2 kW rated output, two to four poles, and an efficiency span of 88.12 to 90.71% at full load and 87.8 to 90.65% at 75% load. Frame size ranges from 100 to 132, protection is IP55 throughout, and voltage entries include 400 V and 400/690 V among others. Manufacturing takes place in Italy, tested under the 2019 GEMS determination for three-phase motors. Some versions are classified under High Efficiency Level 2005, and the highest-output version reaches Level 2018.
As a classic IEC standard motor, the AMPE range covers the mid output band for pumps, compressors, conveyors and other industrial drives, with which Lafert serves the European market alongside its specialised drive solutions, running the standard induction-motor business too.
When buying used or swapping, check bearing condition, insulation resistance of the winding, visible overheating traces on the terminal box and fan cover, and a legible nameplate showing frame size, pole count and efficiency class. Since the mounting codes shift between the vertical form V1 and the foot-flange variants B3/B5/B14/B34/B35, the form actually needed should be confirmed before purchase. Spare parts and support run through the Lafert sales network.

Frequently asked questions
How much power does the Lafert AMPE 100L BA2 have?
The Lafert AMPE 100L BA2 delivers 4 kW.
What to check before buying
- Match the data plate against the order: frame size, mounting and rating have to agree.
- Check the ingress rating against the installation site — outdoors or in dust the demands differ.
- Hold the mounting form and dimensions against the existing seat before ordering.
- The pole count sets the speed — when replacing an older unit, compare this first.
- For used units, ask about winding condition and bearing play.
- Ask about parts availability for this series — the running costs hang on it.
