Jungheinrich pedestrian stackers EJC – the type code explained: 110 to 220 for capacity, ZT, ZZ and DZ for the mast, 250 to 535 for lift height
The pedestrian stacker is the machine between hand pallet truck and forklift: an electrically driven and lifting tiller truck with which pallets are raised into racks up to five metres without the operator riding or needing a forklift licence. Jungheinrich of Hamburg, with Kion one of the two big European makers, lists its tiller stackers as EJC – E for electric, J for the Jungheinrich series, C for tiller trucks – and the full type code is a formula that appears in the register line by line.

The number after EJC gives generation and capacity: EJC 110 carries 1,000 kg, EJC 112 1,200 kg, EJC 212 and EJC 214 are the more heavily built second series with 1,200 and 1,400 kg, EJC 216 and 220 carry 1,600 and 2,000 kg. Then comes the mast: ZT for the two-stage telescopic mast, ZZ for the two-stage mast with free lift, DZ for the three-stage mast with free lift, which combines low travel height with great lift height; before it stands the lift height in centimetres – 250, 290, 360, 430 or 535. An EJC 212-430DZ therefore lifts 1,200 kg to 4.30 m with a three-stage free-lift mast. Suffixes such as b, z, i and G mark modular variants, Lithium-Ionen the battery technology with which Jungheinrich has been replacing lead-acid since the 2010s.
The register lists 129 versions with capacities from 500 to 2,200 kg, many of them from dealer listings with year and condition notes in the name.
On used trucks, operating hours, battery condition and age (capacity test for lead-acid, cycle count for lithium), play in mast and fork carriage, the condition of lift chains and load rollers and a valid annual inspection under accident-prevention rules are what count.
