John Deere 6M – the Mannheim mid-range without full equipment since 2012: 6100M to 6145M, 6M 95 to 6M 250, the number as hp, M as trim level below R, 74 to 206 kW
The 6M series is John Deere's answer to the question of what a tractor costs without full equipment: since 2012 the Mannheim plant has built the 6 series in two tiers – 6R with continuously variable transmission, suspension and electronics as the premium line, 6M as the simpler version with powershift, mechanical valves and a plainer cab for grassland, front loaders and farms that put reliability before comfort. The type logic: the number gives the output in hp, the letter the trim level – a 6100M is a 100 hp tractor in M trim. With the generation from 2021 Deere changed the notation: 6M 95 to 6M 250 likewise give the hp, now with a space, and the range runs from 4.5-litre four-cylinders to 6.8-litre six-cylinders.

The register lists 19 versions with 74 to 206.4 kW from PowerTech four- and six-cylinders of 4,500 to 6,800 cm³, unladen weights from 4,600 to 9,300 kg, gross weights from 9,975 to 15,000 kg, lengths from 4,426 to 5,341 mm and widths from 2,490 to 2,750 mm; the rear linkage lifts 4,350 to 6,000 kg.
The 6M share engine, axles and frame with the 6R and differ in transmission and cab; the 6M 250 with 250 hp is the strongest tractor Mannheim has ever built without a continuously variable transmission.
On used tractors, operating hours, the condition of engine and powershift, the aftertreatment with particulate filter and SCR, loader mounting and front axle and the electronics, deliberately kept simpler on the 6M, are what count.
