The Jeep CJ-7 is the 1976 development of the CJ range with a wheelbase lengthened compared with the CJ-5 and larger, square doors; American Motors (AMC), owner of the Jeep brand from 1970, built it until 1986 at its Toledo, Ohio plant. Alongside the standard six-cylinder, two stronger V8 engines, the AMC 304 and AMC 360, were available, and the Renegade trim package added wider tyres, decal stripes and a roll bar.
