The Iveco Stralis was introduced in 2002 as the successor to the EuroTech and EuroStar and built until 2019, when the S-Way took over; Iveco itself was formed in 1975 from the merger of the Fiat, OM, Lancia and Magirus-Deutz commercial-vehicle businesses. The type designation follows a fixed scheme: AD marks the rigid chassis for bodywork, AS and AT the tractor unit, the following number (190, 260, 340, 440 and so on) the weight or power class, the letters P, S and T after the slash the cab height and equipment, and Y and Z the axle configuration. The Stralis is powered by Iveco's own inline six-cylinder Cursor engines; as the Stralis NP there was also a natural-gas-powered variant, likewise recorded in the register.
