On used silo and tank trailers, the tightness of manhole covers and discharge flaps, the condition of the compressed-air system for pneumatic unloading, corrosion on the often aluminium tanks, inspection and pressure-test history and the function of the axle air suspension count; parts and maintenance run through specialist silo-vehicle workshops. On the vacuum-proof versions it is also worth testing the vacuum pump, where it is sold together with the trailer.
