Fiat Scudo – collective page for the Sevel Nord van, twin sibling of the Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert, four-cylinder diesels from 51 to 100 kW, gross weights from 2.1 to 3.0 tonnes

The Scudo is Fiat's contribution to the mid-size van built jointly with PSA (Citroën, Peugeot) at the Sevel Nord plant in Valenciennes-Hordain in northern France, whose first generation launched in 1995. The Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert are identical under the skin; the brands differ mainly in the front end and trim. Model designations combine payload class (K for short, L for long), roof height (H1, H2) and engine, such as 1.6 or 2.0 Multijet (MJ), initially with JTD turbodiesel units and later Multijet common-rail technology.

The register lists 70 versions here with 51 to 100 kW, all from four-cylinder diesel engines, 1,560 to 2,932 cm³ displacement, kerb weights of 1,312 to 2,059 kg, gross vehicle weights of 2,135 to 2,973 kg, lengths of 4,440 to 5,140 mm and widths of 1,800 to 2,090 mm.

The Scudo serves the compact panel-van segment for trades, courier services and as a base for camper conversions; it competes with the VW Transporter, the Ford Transit Custom and its own sibling models from the Sevel Nord alliance.

On a used example, check for corrosion on the sliding-door tracks and wheel arches, the condition of the turbocharger and dual-mass flywheel on Multijet engines, and the tightness of the load-area lining; camper conversions additionally warrant a check for damp in the build. Spare parts are available through the Fiat network as well as via the identical PSA parts.
