Recorded operating weight runs from 1,500 to 4,850 kg, wheelbase from 1,775 to 2,333 mm, and top speed of the listed models spans 19.6 to 40 km/h. This wide spread reflects the fact that both early post-war models and modern cabbed tractors with higher travel speeds carried the Farmer name.

At Fendt, the Farmer name consistently denoted the mid power class between the more compact models and the large Favorit tractors. For a used Farmer tractor, the exact generation matters most, as technology and equipment changed fundamentally over this long span.

The two-speed PTO with 540 and 1,000 rpm only became widespread in Europe from the 1970s; early 1960s Farmer models therefore usually had only the single-speed 540 rpm PTO, while later model years offered both speeds. The three-point hitch matched category I at the lower end of the power range and already category II under ISO 730 at the upper end above 55 kW. The exact category therefore follows from the model year rather than the power rating alone, since Fendt introduced the change model by model.
