Ensinger was one of the smaller German tractor makers in the highly diversified post-war industry, where numerous regional suppliers served smaller farms alongside major brands such as Deutz, Fendt and Hanomag. The AS range targeted exactly this segment of small and medium-sized farms. Many such marques disappeared from the market already during the 1960s and 1970s, as industry consolidation left room mainly for the largest makers.
When buying these rare small tractors, condition and originality matter most: engine bearings, injection pump and compression of the two-cylinder unit, rust on panels and mudguards, the condition of steering and brakes, and the tightness of the hydraulics. Spares today can practically only be sourced through collectors and tractor clubs.
