The EDM4S SkyWiper from NT Service (Lithuania) is a directional, portable handheld jammer against drones with four antennas. It jams the control and video link at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz as well as satellite navigation in the range around 1.5 GHz. When the link is cut, a return, a landing or a crash follows depending on the failsafe.
Even a device built in the EU remains reserved for authorities and armed forces. In Germany every use of frequencies needs an assignment from the Bundesnetzagentur (Section 91(1) TKG), private persons have no route to operation, and drone defence follows Section 15a LuftSiG. In Poland, Article 42 of the 2024 Electronic Communications Law permits such devices only in cases regulated by statute, and drone defence is governed by Article 156ze of the Aviation Law. Anyone jamming GNSS hits all navigation users nearby, not only the drone; the ISM bands are shared with other radio services.
An effect range of 3 to 5 km is given; the parameter table lists the upper limit of 5 km, valid under favourable conditions. The jammed bands are 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz and GPS/GLONASS around 1.5 GHz, at 10 W each. The unit weighs 5.5 kg and measures 1,050 × 220 × 360 mm with the stock extended. The device has existed since 2021; users named are Lithuania, Ukraine (version EDM4S-UA), Romania (as Skybeam) and Nigeria. The manufacturer names the military as the field of use.
At 5.5 kg and over a metre long with the stock extended, this is a device for trained personnel. Variants such as EDM4S-UA and Skybeam are separate versions, so the variant must be considered for spare parts and software. Wear concerns the battery (cycle count, cell voltage), antennas, stock mechanism and connectors, and the output stages in continuous operation at 10 W per band. Radio jamming does not work against drones without a radio link or with fibre-optic control.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
