The PITBULL from MyDefence (Denmark) is a compact, body-worn jammer for counter-drone use. It jams the control and video link on the bands around 2.4 and 5.8 GHz as well as satellite navigation. When the link fails, the drone returns, lands or crashes depending on its failsafe; without GNSS it also loses its position fix.
On the legal framework: operation only by authorities and armed forces. Germany requires an assignment from the Bundesnetzagentur for every use of frequencies (Section 91(1) TKG), private persons and companies cannot legally operate a jammer there, and drone defence follows Section 15a LuftSiG. In Poland, under Article 42 of the 2024 Electronic Communications Law, jamming may be ordered only by the bodies named there, and drone defence is governed by Article 156ze of the Aviation Law. Drones share the bands around 2.4 and 5.8 GHz with WLAN and other devices, and GNSS jamming hits uninvolved navigation users.
The jammed ranges are 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, 5.2 to 5.8 GHz and GNSS, in automatic or manual mode. The mean power is 2 W and continuous operation lasts 2 hours. The unit weighs 775 g without battery. The manufacturer states an effect range of 1 km; it was measured on a commercially available consumer drone that was 1,250 m from its pilot. The range therefore depends on the geometry between pilot, drone and jammer. Military and police are named as fields of use.
With the PITBULL the low weight means personnel can carry it continuously; in return the 2 W mean power and two-hour operation limit range and endurance compared with sector and vehicle devices. Because detection and effect are separate tasks, it is often combined with WINGMAN, a detection device from the same manufacturer. Wear concerns the battery (cycle count, cell voltage), antennas, housing and the connectors worn on the body.

What to check before buying
- Check the hour meter against the service records — a replaced instrument is the most common gap.
- Compare the data plate and chassis number with the papers.
- Ask about parts availability for this build year — the running costs hang on it.
